Hammers in Portugal break ahead of Final
West Ham’s preparations for the Uefa Conference have begun with the squad arriving in Portugal for a three-day warm weather break training camp.
The Hammers’ first major European showpiece in 47 years, less than ten days away, Moyes’ men were in training soon after the conclusion of the League campaign.
Gianluca Scamacca remained absent as he continued his rehabilitation following knee surgery but the remainder were involved in a training session, as thoughts turn to our Conference League date with Italians ACF Fiorentina, at the Eden Arena in Prague, Czechia, on Wednesday 7 June.
Sunday’s starting XI at Leicester City went through a light cool-down session, while the remainder of the group worked hard in temperatures touching 23 degrees, undergoing a mixture of football and fitness drills in the Portuguese sun.
The Hammers will spend a couple of days in Portugal, before returning to England for the final countdown before heading for Prague next Monday, as we seek a first major trophy since 1980.
