Arsenal are in pole position to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United this summer.
According to Claret and Hugh – a website with extremely close links to West Ham co-owner David Sullivan, Declan Rice and his father Sean have a gentleman’s agreement to leave this summer, with Arsenal best placed to sign him.
Arsenal are allegedly ready to kick off the bidding for the 24-year-old Hammers skipper with an £85 million offer (Claret and Hugh).
That’s obviously well short of West Ham’s £120 million asking price for Rice. The North London outfit will obviously start low though, and my guess is that Dec will leave for around £95-100 million in the end…

C&H reckon that the Gunners are in the box seat to sign Rice in the summer transfer window.
David Moyes will not be letting him leave the London Stadium for £85 million though, so Arsenal had better plan on substantially upping their opening offer, if they really want to sign the 24-year-old.
The Gunners should have no qualms paying in excess of £100 million for the Hammers central midfielder.
He is one of the top three players in world football in his specific position in my opinion, alongside Rodri and Joshua Kimmich.
Declan Rice would instantly take Arsenal to another level, and as we all know from this season just gone, that next level for them would be a Premier League title.
Obviously I hope that the England international remains at the London Stadium, but that now just seems like a completely unrealistic dream.
When he ends up leaving, he’ll go with most fans’ blessings. He has been a sensational player for us and has shown more passion, fight and commitment to the badge than anyone else over the past four or five years.
Bayern Munich would clearly be my preferred destination for Dec, but if he ends up at Arsenal, so be it. I wish him the best of luck.
