The heartwarming moment West Ham manager David Moyes, 60, shared his winner’s medal with his 87-year-old father in Prague… before his own ‘dad-dancing’ back in the dressing room!
West Ham’s historic European night in Prague saw a touching moment amid jubilant celebrations as David Moyes handed his winners’ medal to his 87-year-old father.
The Hammers boss celebrated on the pitch after Jarrod Bowen’s last-minute goal gave West Ham a 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final last night.
Moyes was seen sharing the moment with his dad, who has followed the team on their European journey and was in attendance in Alkmaar for the semi-final in which home supporters attacked the visiting Londoners.
‘He was the first one, I thought I should get it round his neck,’ Moyes told BT Sport after the game. ‘He’s watched a lot over the years and I hope he enjoyed it.
‘[He’s] still going strong, still wants to come to the game. It’s great, it was a great moment to have your family at the game.

‘These sorts of moments as managers don’t come around too often, you have to work very hard.’
Moyes’ men ended a 43-year wait for European glory and etched their names alongside West Ham legends who have claimed major honours in the past.
It completes an astonishing turnaround for the ex-Manchester United boss, who was much maligned after his time in Manchester during spells with Real Sociedad, Sunderland and an initial six-month rescue mission with the Hammers.
The 60-year-old returned to the club in 2019 before steering the side to back-to-back top-seven finishes in the two seasons before last.
The West Ham boss led the celebrations by showcasing his dance moves in the dressing room

‘The moments you get to celebrate with your family and win in the last minute of the game, it doesn’t happen often,’ he added.
‘If somebody had said three years ago when I took the job that you’d avoid relegation and finish in Europe I’ve said you were mad. This competition has been great for us, the players have been remarkable.’
The West Ham boss took in the moment with his squad in the dressing room after leaving the pitch, setting off the dancing that endured long into the night.
