West Ham wait on Moyes
West Ham are waiting on David Moyes to make a decision on whether he will be managing the club next season!
David Sullivan has made it clear today that the club him to continue into the third year of his cot but that he has yet to make a decision.
It was suggested even before the European Conference Final that the Scot would be making his own decision on whether he was ready to lead the club into the 1923/24 season having been under pressure for much of the season.
And that is thought to centre on the new infrastructure the club is planning to put in place under a new director of football this summer.
It MAY be that Moyes is concerned the decision making on new arrivals and departures will be taken out of his and head of recruitment Rob Newman’s hands but it was not an answer to which ClaretandHugh was offered an answer when we put it to our highest placed source.
Instead, we were told: “Who knows, he could resign and go out on a high, but from the club’s point of view he stays.”
There has been much talk of the vacant job at Celtic where Ange Postecoglou has departed to become manager of Sputs over the last few days.
However, Sullivan implied that he would hope Moyes, like himself , would honour the third year on his contract declaring that is how he tried to behave in all circumstances,
He added that discussions on a new contract would begin next summer should Moyes remain at the London Stadium+ as he appeared to suggest when saying on the return from Prague that he hoped the European adventure would stretch into forthcoming seasons.
However, there is no indication beyond that as to what the 60 year old Scot will decide.
