West Ham announce end-of-season retained list, with Europa Conference League winner departing… as Hammers offer star man last-ditch new deal
- Manuel Lanzini will be leaving West Ham once his contract expires on June 30
- Angelo Ogbonna has been offered a new contract after eight years of service
West Ham have announced their end-of-season retained list ahead of the 2023/2024 Premier League campaign which includes the departure of Manuel Lanzini when his contract expires on June 30.
The Argentine midfielder made the permeant switch to West Ham in 2016 after impressing during a loan spell from United Arab Emirates side Al Jazira the following season.
During his eight season with the Hammers, Lanzini made 226 appearances in all competitions, scoring 32 goals and was part of the Europa Conference League winning squad.
Despite being a regular starter in previous campaigns, he has fallen out of favour in David Moyes‘ side and is no longer seen as part of his long-term plans.
‘On behalf of the players and coaching staff, I would like to thank Manu and wish him all the very best for the future,’ said Moyes.

The rest of departures came from the development squad and West Ham’s academy
‘Manu has been a tremendous servant for the football club and a brilliant player for me in my time here as manager. In my first spell he played a key role in helping us to stay up, and he has always been someone I can rely on.
‘Manu is a fantastic professional, a really good lad, and whichever club he joins will have an excellent player on their hands.
‘We are sorry to see him go, but he deserves the opportunity to play more regularly elsewhere, and we wish him well in his next adventure.’
The East Londoners have also confirmed that they have offered Angelo Ogbonna a new contract to extend his eight year stay.
Meanwhile, development squad players Ademipo Odubeko, Armstrong Oko-Flex and Brian Kinnear, as well as scholar Asher Falase, will be leaving London Stadium at the end of June.
19-year-old defender Jamal Baptiste is also set to part ways with West Ham in the summer despite being offered a new deal.
