Technical Director a must !
Our beloved West Ham United are not renowned for swift and dare I say it, sensible decisions.
But we really have to put our skates on regarding the new technical director or once again we will risk missing out on our desired targets in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Telegraph reported yesterday that the Irons were just days away from deciding whether to appoint a new technical director at the London Stadium, with former Bayer Leverkusen director Tim Steidten standing a “50/50” chance of filling the vacant position.
The club are ready to press on with their decision-making after the news that David Moyes is set to remain as manager next season after their Europa Conference League success.
However, the longer the wait, history may repeat itself. We all know about our far from stellar record in the transfer market in recent years. It goes without saying that whoever is brought into the vacant position is due to be given a large say in the transfer activity moving forward, as part of the restructuring of the club.
Our signings from last summer have been quite rightly been widely scrutinised, with the likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Lucas Paqueta and Thilo Kehrer all struggling at different points in the last 12 months.
And what with Declan Rice soon to leave us in the coming weeks, transfer incomings have never been as important as they are now.
