A club could sign coveted star Boulaye Dia and instantly sell him to West Ham for an £11m profit, claims a new report.
West Ham fans may remember the name Boulaye Dia well from previous transfer windows.
Now he is being heavily linked with the Hammers once again.
With the future of Gianluca Scamacca in doubt, West Ham look set to be in the market for a new forward in the summer transfer window.
David Moyes is said to be a big fan of Viktor Gyokeres at Coventry. And the same has been said about the Scot when it comes to striker Dia.
West Ham were said to have bid for Dia when he was at Reims. But in the end the Senegal striker joined Villarreal.
Report: Club could sign coveted star Boulaye Dia and instantly sell him to West Ham for £11m profit
Things did not work out for the alleged West Ham target with the Yellow Submarine and he as loaned out to Serie A side Salernitana.
The 26-year-old has been a revelation in Italy, scoring 16 goals in 33 games to single-handedly keep Salernitana up.
Now West Ham have renewed their interest but Salernitana have a cunning plan.
A report claims the club could sign coveted star Dia and instantly sell him to West Ham for an £11m profit.
Salernitana had a £10m option to buy Dia in their deal with Villarreal and fully intend to activate it.
Clause means Salernitana limited to price they can command for Dia
But Football Italia report that keen interest from West Ham, Everton and other Serie A clubs has Salernitana eyeing the chance to double their money.
When Dia scored his 15th goal of the season it activated the insertion of a release clause in any permanent contract with Salernitana of £21m.
And they intend to sell Dia, giving West Ham the chance to get a forward Moyes has tracked for some time for a fee that is not unreasonable in the modern market.
When West Ham were previously linked with Dia he was likened to Michail Antonio, who turns 34 next season and also faces an uncertain future at the club.
