Man United boss Erik ten Hag ‘left FUMING’ as club’s takeover saga has slowed their Declan Rice pursuit… with Arsenal favourites to sign England star
- Erik ten Hag is said to be frustrated with Man United’s lack of transfer activity
- United boss will not get the green light to sign players until after takeover saga
- Transfer target Declan Rice now appears poised to instead join rivals Arsenal
Erik ten Hag has been reportedly left fuming as Manchester United‘s ongoing takeover talks has stifled his transfer plans.
The Dutchman has long been keen on a move for Declan Rice, with the West Ham star planned to be the latest addition in the midfield overhaul he has initiated since taking over at the club last summer.
Now appears to be the perfect time to sign the 24-year-old, with Hammers co-owner David Sullivan confirming the player would be allowed to depart this summer after leading the club to European glory earlier this month.
However, United’s protracted takeover saga has complicated matters for Ten Hag on the transfer front this summer.
According to a report from The Sun, Ten Hag is frustrated the Glazers reluctance to allow any major spending until the status of the club’s ownership going forward has been resolved.

Sheikh Jassim is currently leading a Qatari-based bid to buy Manchester United
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani of the Qatari royal family has emerged as the frontrunner to purchase the Red Devils, though the deal is still yet to be completed.
Even if the deal is completed in the coming days as some, including former United star Rio Ferdinand, have predicted, the new owners would still need to complete the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors’ Test.
As a result, Ten Hag has been effectively paralysed in the transfer market until the administrative process can be completed on all sides.
During this time, Arsenal have moved ahead of United as the club seeming most likely to secure Rice’s signature during the transfer window.
Manchester City and Chelsea are also keen on landing the England international this summer, with each of the four clubs having a unique sales pitch for the Hammers captain this summer.
