Liverpool will reportedly battle both Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund for Paris Saint-Germain teenager Warren Zaire-Emery.
The emergence of Zaire-Emery was a huge positive in a disappointing season for PSG, with the 17-year-old scoring two goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances for the French giants.
The attacking midfielder, who has also operated on both flanks this term, became PSG’s youngest every debutant this season, replacing Marco Verratti on the opening day at just 16 years and 151 days, before later becoming the youngest player ever to start a Champions League knockout game.
“He was very serious and very good during pre-season,” Galtier said. “I had to give him his first minutes. It’s important to put out words into action.”
Zaire-Emery continued to impress and Fichajes now claim both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp ‘highly value Zaire-Emery and believe he has the potential to become a star in the short term’.
Liverpool and Manchester City are therefore ‘willing to do everything they can to sign the young talent’.
PSG though ‘are not willing to let their youthful jewel escape easily’ and Zaire-Emery is currently under contract at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2025.
But PSG want Bernardo Silva – who is apparently keen on a move to the French capital – and have offered a number of players in a bid to reduce the £70m outlay required to land him from the Treble-winners.
Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarummanhave both been linked with a move in the opposite direction, but RMC Sport claim Guardiola has told PSG he only wants Zaire-Emery in exchange for the Portuguese winger.
City and Liverpool are thought to be competing with Borussia Dortmund to obtain Zaire-Emery’s future services.
Dortmund are scouting out the 17-year-old’s availability as they look to replace Jude Bellingham following his big-money move to Real Madrid.
Liverpool meanwhile are looking to add further additions in midfield following the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, as Jurgen Klopp looks to replace outgoing stars and add fresh legs to his ageing squad.
