Fabrizio Romano reports that William Saliba’s new deal with Arsenal is done and sealed, with the player set to sign a new long-term contract when he returns from his holidays.
The first Arsenal players are set to return to pre-season training next week, and that group is expected to include Saliba.
Some players will return later, after playing for their countries over the international break. But Saliba wasn’t involved with France due to the injury setback that saw him miss the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Evening Standard confirm that Saliba will sign a new four-year contract when he returns from holiday.
In other news, Ryan Taylor reports that Reiss Nelson’s new contract with Arsenal should also be confirmed within the next week.
The 23-year-old is currently on holiday, but an agreement is in place over a four-year deal with an option to extend by a further year.
Like Saliba, Nelson is expected to sign the next contract after his holiday, and he’s set to return to training with Arsenal next week.
Though there’s been little doubt that both players would extend their deals for a while now, it will be a boost to see the two moves made official.
