West Ham/Arsenal Rice talks hit problems
Hughie Southon learns of West Ham/Arsenal talks trouble
Talks with Arsenal over the Declan Rice switch to North London have hit more difficulties with the Hammers determined to get the best possible deal for our club.
As is well known Arsenal want to pay the £105 million fee over four years but co West Ham chair David Sullivan is determined to get the fee over a maximum of 18 months.
And currently the delay is inhibiting our ability to get into the transfer window as much of the funds available are tied into the Rice deal.
West Ham hoping Rice will stay
Claret and Hugh has learned exclusively from our top London Stadium source that the two sides are still fighting on a number of issues and hopes that hopes the situation would be solved by today are now dead.
But it has given rise to mild hopes that Declan could remain at the Hammers with our source saying: ” We are still fighting with Arsenal to do the gest deal for WHU, but we are hopeful it will conclude in next 72 hours. To be honest we still hope he stays, though its very unlikely!”
