Thanks Declan but Arsenal not your best decision
So finally Declan Rice is a former Hammer unless some late drama takes place during his medical on Friday which is highly unlikely.
It has been a long time coming and finally concludes precisely as Claret and Hugh had revealed this time last year, that after a last season with us, he would be gone this summer.
We – like everybody else – wish to God a Conference gong and Europa League football next term – may have seen a change of heart but it wasn’t to be and he’s away.
First and foremost we thank him for his amazing dedication on and off the pitch to the Hammers. They guy has given everything in good and poor seasons and thorough deserves to leave with a gong from his time here.
We are not carping but personally believe he has made the wrong decision in choosing Arsenal ahead of Manchester City if he is determined to win things in the Champions League.
Citeh are the best team in European League football and would have given him everything he wanted so the decision to remain in London is obviously a family thing.
The Gooners have to go back to the 1993/94 season for a European success in the Uefa Cup Winners Cup nearly 25 years after their only other triumph in what was then called the Inter City Fairs Cup.
As said – we wish a great player and bloke all the best – but fear he will come to regret this move in years to come!
