Ajax are reportedly literally waiting for West Ham United to make an offer for Edson Alvarez.
According to Algemeen Dagblad, the door is wide open for West Ham to sign Edson Alvarez after Borussia Dortmund pulled out of the race for the Mexican’s signature.

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move to sign the £38 million-rated Ajax ace this summer.
There has been plenty of transfer news flying about this summer already involving the Hammers, but Alvarez is someone who I think David Moyes definitely has his eye on.
And why wouldn’t he? The 25-year-old is a superb central midfielder. It seems as though he’s there for the taking for West Ham if Moyes really wants to sign him…
Ajax literally waiting for West Ham to make £38m offer for ‘exceptional’ Edson Alvarez
Algemeen Dagblad reckon that Ajax want West Ham to come in and bid for the Mexico international after Borussia Dortmund dropped out of the race to sign him.
I think that £38 million for Alvarez would be very good value indeed, and Moyes shouldn’t hesitate to bring him to the London Stadium.
Described by The Daily Mail as an ‘exceptional’ holding midfielder who breaks up play, Alvarez would be a superb replacement for Rice at the London Stadium.
He is absolutely perfectly built for the Premier League what with his impressive physicality, energy levels and tenacious tackling.
In 31 Eredivisie outings this season, the 25-year-old bagged three goals and three assists. During those appearances, he averaged 2.3 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 2.4 clearances per game. He made 77.3 passes on average per game and recorded a mightily impressive completion rate of 88.9% (Who Scored).
Edson Alvarez really does have it all, and if West Ham sign him this summer as well as another top-class box-to-box midfielder, there’s no reason why we can’t improve as a team after Rice leaves.
