Chelsea enquire about AS Roma forward and Tottenham Hotspur target Paulo Dybala
Premier League rivals Chelsea have enquired about AS Roma star and Tottenham Hotspur target Paulo Dybala, according to Corriere dello Sport (h/t Metro).
Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on getting a hold of his compatriot’s signature. To that end, the Blues are considering making a move for the Argentina international once they bolster other areas of their squad.
Jose Mourinho’s team signed the forward as a free agent in the summer of 2022 after he left Juventus. Currently, the 29-year-old’s contract with the Giallorossi includes a £10 million release clause, which the West London club are weighing up.
However, Chelsea are not the only team interested in Dybala. The North London side also have him on their radar. Manchester United and clubs in Saudi Arabia have also been linked with the Argentine.
Pochettino has long held an interest in the forward. While in charge of Tottenham, the 51-year-old was close to acquiring his services. Our former gaffer also wanted the 29-year-old during his stint at PSG.
Chelsea struggled to find the back of the net last season. The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz failed to score goals consistently. Romelu Lukaku also seems surplus to requirements at the Blues.
As for Spurs, we have an abundance of talent in the attack. Harry Kane has been our talisman for several years now and was brilliant in the previous campaign as well.
Son Heung-min has also developed into a quality forward during his time in North London. We have Dejan Kulusevksi and Richarlison in our ranks. Manor Solomon is also set to sign for the Lilywhites.

Therefore, it does not look like Tottenham need Dybala in their ranks for now. However, if there are departures from our front line in the coming weeks, the Argentine’s price tag makes him a compelling option.
