Interest in West Ham striker “entirely made up”
Reports that Galatasaray director Erden Timur has flown to London for discussions with West Ham to work out a deal to take Michail Antonio have been entirely denied by the Hammers.
According to Turkish outlets where this type of story has been run many times in the past – he will “sit down with West Ham to discuss a deal for Antonio” with the Hammers wanting £5.9million for the striker.
The only issue is the story is “made up ” and entirely untrue according the Claret and Hugh’s key source at the London Stadium.
Incredibly, the report goes on to say that the Turkish club want the deal for Antonio finalised as soon as possible, as they want him to be able to feature in the Champions League second qualifying round on 25 July.
And it even suggests our No 9 would arrive as a backup option to PSG’s Mauro Icardi should he be signed.
However, our source said: “The story has been made up. There really isn’t a word of truth in and we have had this before from stories in the Turkish media.”
