West Ham target Yunus Musah ‘agrees personal terms’ on Fulham move but it’s actually brilliant news for David Moyes.
Given West Ham are said to be targeting exciting young central midfielder Yunus Musah to replace Declan Rice, news he could be about to join Fulham could be seen as another big blow.
West Ham and Fulham are two of only four Premier League clubs yet to make a signing in the summer transfer window.
That could be about to change for the Cottagers, though, as reporters claim the 20-year-old Valencia and US star is nearing a move to west, rather than east, London.
Bad news for Hammers on the face of it but reality may be very different
But it may not be the crushing blow many might think.
As West Ham target Musah ‘agrees personal terms’ on Fulham move it’s actually brilliant news for David Moyes.
West Ham are said to have identified Fulham and Portugal defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha as one of several targets to replace skipper Rice.
Last week we reported on claims that Fulham are ‘all over’ the £20m signing of Musah despite some interest from Milan.
As that move edges ever closer it can only mean one thing.

Fulham must be preparing to offload star man Palhinha.
With the excellent Harrison Reed, Sasa Lukic, Andreas Pereira and Tom Cairney already competing for one or two spots in central midfield alongside Palhinha, there is no way Fulham can add another expensive – by their standards – player to that mix with no European football.
And they have also been heavily linked with another West Ham target James Ward-Prowse.
If Musah moves to Craven Cottage that suggests he has been offered assurances he will be a guaranteed starter.
He is a very similar player to Palhinha, in the same mould as a midfield destroyer.
Potential and resale value vs proven quality who can hit the ground running
Musah and Palhinha in the same Fulham midfield is not going to happen.
It was revealed last month that West Ham have already held talks with Palhinha and his representatives over a move.
While Musah is the younger player with more potential to generate future resale value, West Ham do need someone they know can hit the ground running to replace Rice.
Not just in terms of ability – and there was nobody better than Palhinha in defensive midfield across Europe’s top five leagues last season – but in terms of leadership too.
So if Musah does join Fulham, West Ham fans should not be too disheartened.
