West Ham have made a Declan Rice kit launch decision which will leave some fans scratching their heads as his Arsenal move hits a wall.
West Ham finally unveiled their new 2023/24 home kit on Monday morning but there was something of a surprise for Hammers fans who went online to buy it.
Indeed it may come as something of a surprise to Arsenal supporters too.
West Ham’s new home strip has caused quite a stir among supporters. Not just because it features a bubbles pattern most supporters don’t like, but down to the fact the club has priced the shirt at a whopping £75. It’s another £15 to get it personalised too.
What supporters of both West Ham and the Gunners will find in that section might come as something of a surprise.

West Ham have made a Declan Rice kit launch decision which will leave some fans scratching their heads as his Arsenal move hits a wall.
In the personalisation section when buying the new West Ham shirt, you can still select Arsenal-bound Rice.
Yes of course he’s still officially a West Ham player. But the world and its wife knows he is set to join the Gunners any day now.
So it is somewhat odd. And it leaves West Ham open to ridicule – particularly from Arsenal fans who are already taking great delight in goading Hammers about signing their crown jewel.
Confirmation of Rice move to Arsenal drags on and on
It comes as the departing skipper’s move to north London continues to drag on and on… and on.
The British record £105m transfer has become one of the sagas of the summer transfer window.
Many believed the deal would be announced last week. Then there were claims it would be at the weekend.
Now it seems it will have to wait until Rice is back from a holiday in Portugal later this week at the earliest.
As reported previously on Hammers News, word is Arsenal are planning to rub West Ham’s noses in it by making a real fanfare of the Rice signing.
Delay is damaging for West Ham’s own window plans
But the length of time the deal has and continues to take is actually having a damaging impact on West Ham’s transfer window.
David Moyes is already losing serious ground on a number of reported key targets.
West Ham are on UEFA’s Financial Fair Play watch list and need to tread carefully with how and when they spend money.
So the east Londoners are very much waiting for the first tranche of the mammoth fee before committing to any deals themselves.
And the season starts in just over one month.
