Pau Torres Joining Aston Villa is Official
Aston Villa finally confirmed the signing of Pau Torres, after the recently married former Villarreal player returned from his holiday to complete the transfer. It’s understood that the centre-back, due to Brexit, still has to get wait to get international clearance and have his visa application approved, but these are formalities.

In terms of shirt number selection, Torres has gone for Conor Hourihane’s old shirt number of 14. I doubt following in the Irish man’s footsteps was his motivation, but lets pretend it is, rather than the likes of Thierry Henry or Johan Cruyff.
The 26-year-old will also carry his first name ‘Pau’ on the back of his shirt, which he has done for both his club and country in the past.

Torres has reunited with his former Villarreal boss Unai Emery and has reportedly committed to Villa for five-years for a €32.5m fee plus €5m add ons.
