David Moyes deployed an exciting new playing style vs Perth Glory and one West Ham United player was exceptional.
West Ham beat Perth Glory 6-2 during our second pre-season friendly game out in Australia today, after our win against Boreham Wood earlier this week.

Hammers manager David Moyes would have been very happy indeed with the performance of his team.
And the West Ham fans would have been delighted as well, with their side playing a more possession-based system. We absolutely dominated possession against the inferior Aussie side.

David Moyes deploys exciting new playing style vs Perth Glory and one West Ham player was exceptional
Gianluca Scamacca put in a really encouraging performance for the Hammers against Perth today, and he scored a goal from the penalty spot.
It was his all around display that was the most positive thing from the game though.
And more importantly, it was West Ham’s performance as a team that really brought the best out of the Italian.
Sure, the match was against a far inferior opposition, but you can only beat what’s in front of you can’t you.
Moyes set up his team to keep hold of the ball more but crucially, Danny Ings was slotted in really close to Scamacca.
That meant that the 24-year-old’s exceptional ability to hold the ball up was not completely wasted because he had someone to lay it off to.
The likes of Dan Chesters and Pablo Fornals got in and around Gianluca Scamacca as well, and the way that West Ham played against Perth Glory gives me great hope for the season ahead.
The Italian striker should be pretty excited about it as well. Let’s just hope that it wasn’t just a one-off and Moyes has a clear vision ahead of how he plans to improve the quality of our football as a team.
