David Moyes will work with Irvine for another year
David Moyes will retain the services of his long time No 2 Alan Irvine next season having worked with the Hammers boss for two decades.
Irvine now works from the north to be closer top home but it has now been revealed that he played a key role in the club’s Europa Conference success last season.
Irvine signs new 12 month deal
The result has been the Hammers offered the 65 year-old Scot a new 12-month contract which he signed last week as they prepare for a new campaign in the Europa League this season.
So despite having lost Mark Warburton, Paul Nevin and Stuart Pearce during his time at the club. it seems Moyes has held on to his most trust lieutenant
Irvine was Moyes’ No 2 at Everton from 2004 and joined him as assistant manager at West Ham before taking on his current role in 2021 to enable him to be closer to his family in the north of England.
Irvine played for Queens Park, Everton, Crystal Palace, Dundee United and Blackburn and later managed Preston, Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom.
