Hammers hopes they would sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher have finally crashed!
Reports earlier in the day had indicated that the midfielder wanted to stay at the club under new manager Mauricio Pochettino and sadly from an Irons point of view that has turned out to be the case.
The Hammers had hoped, having had one bid turned down. that another would succeed given the Blues were listening and talking terms but it seems the player has now made it clear he wants the chance to make a big impression under the new Stamford Bridge manager.
The Hammers are clearly disappointed but having been made aware of the situation our key source explained the position exclusively to Claret and Hugh a few minutes ago.
He said: ” It’s disappointing because we were hopeful that we could get the deal done. Sadly, the player has decided he would prefer to stay where he is under the new manager.”
