New striker target reported
If reports are to be believed the last player to have played at the Boleyn Ground – Michail Antonio – is off to pastures new.
He has appeared to have been unsettled for a while at the London Stadium and the all-time Hammers top Premier League scorer may soon be on his way but should Gianluca Scamacca leave, as seems very likely, that could change.
Never easy on the eye, he nevertheless makes up for lack of technical skill with an amazing work ethic over the 90 minutes of a game.
What he lacks in finesse Antonio more than makes up it for with a willingness to work hard, an old fashioned physical player, he gave the Irons a battering ram option up front.
David Moyes is reported to be looking for a replacement and has apparently identified the £3.5m , 28-year-old Venezia and Finland striker Joel Pohjanpalo.
He rattled in 19 goals last season but they were in Italy’s Serie B.
You never know, this could be a totally inspired, season changing signing or yet another dud.
