West Ham are planning to make six signings in just 25 days as desperation kicks in to save their woeful transfer window.
You all know the line by now West Ham fans.
We and the rest of the football media covering West Ham in the summer transfer window have little choice but to trot it out in most articles relating to the club.
The Hammers are the only Premier League club yet to sign a player in this window. In fact if I had the time or patience to check it’s fair to assume West Ham might be the only professional club in the country who have not welcomed a new arrival this summer.
And the season gets underway in six days. Without Declan Rice, Gianluca Scamacca, Manuel Lanzini or Aaron Cresswell.
Even the most cynical of West Ham fans could not have predicted the situation the Hammers find themselves in right now.

A source close to the West Ham board recently described the club’s transfer by committee approach as ‘a shambles and complete mess’.

Hammers News warned West Ham are fast becoming Rejected FC with every bid made thus far being turned down amid one of the most woeful transfer windows in many years.
And agents are telling journalists that West Ham are showing themselves up in the window by making ridiculous derisory offers for players that stand no chance of being accepted.
This summer’s window opened for domestic deals back on June 15th and for all transfers on July 1st.
That means the Hammers have had 53 days – or seven-and-a-half weeks – to get players in.
Now West Ham are planning to make six signings in just 25 days as desperation kicks in to save their woeful transfer window.
That’s according to a new claim from sources speaking to 90min.
Hammers clearly have to massively up transfer conversion rate of zero in 53 days thus far
The report states West Ham want to sign up to SIX new stars before the window slams shut on August 31st – 25 days from now.
“90min understands the Hammers are looking to bring in up to six players before the summer window closes and getting the (Edson) Alvarez deal over the line is seen as a key breakthrough in the transfer market,” the report states.
The claim comes after West Ham advertised for seven signings on an online industry football transfer marketplace called TransferRoom – as seen by The Athletic.
That report claimed the Hammers posted on the site – a widely used across football – in their search for a left-back, centre-back, defensive midfielder, central midfielder, striker, winger and No 10.
“The posts say that West Ham’s budget for each position is £20million but makes clear they are also exploring the loan market,” The Athletic reported.
Having managed zero signings in 53 days, West Ham will clearly have to massively up their transfer conversion rate if they want to make six or seven signings in half that time from here on in.
West Ham need signings and they need them quickly with the season getting underway at Bournemouth next week.
They have a budget of at least £150m to do it – as explained earlier on Hammers News.
