James Maddison expected to be available for Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou expects James Maddison to be available for the North London side against Bournemouth.
Spurs are set to visit the Vitality Stadium on Saturday (26 August) in the Premier League. In our previous fixture against Manchester United last weekend, the former Leicester City star was seen leaving on crutches after the 2-0 win.
However, speaking to the media via football.london, Postecoglou provided a positive update on the England international and revealed that the 26-year-old is anticipated to be fit for the clash versus the Cherries.
“Madders trained today unrestricted. We’ll see how he pulls up but at the moment he will be available.”
Tottenham signed Maddison in the ongoing transfer window from the Foxes. Over the years, the midfielder had been a key player for the King Power Stadium side. But they were relegated at the end of the previous campaign.
Despite Leicester’s poor form over the last year, the playmaker has been in fine form. The English national has continued to put in impressive displays at the North London side.
On his competitive debut, Maddison provided two assists in the 2-2 draw with Brentford. The midfielder put in another inspiring performance for the Lilywhites when Man United visited Spurs’ home ground.
Bournemouth have had a tough start to the new season. The Cherries drew their opening match against West Ham United and lost 3-1 to Liverpool last weekend. However, they posed quite a few problems to the Merseyside outfit in the first half.
Andoni Iraola, who was appointed the Vitality Stadium side’s manager this summer, built his managerial pedigree in Spain before moving to England. It will be interesting to see how the Dorset-based club will set up against us.

In Tottenham’s last meeting against Bournemouth, we lost 3-2 to them at home in an enthralling fixture. Hopefully, this time around, the North London side will be more solid and Postecoglou will be able to build on the Man United showing.
