According to reports, Nottingham Forest have agreed to sell Brennan Johnson to Tottenham and have lodged a £25million bid to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.
Tottenham, Chelsea and Brentford have all been linked with Johnson this summer and it looks like Ange Postecoglou’s side have won the race for the highly-rated winger.
Although the Welsh international is a fan favourite at the City Ground and an important player, Forest are willing to sell him as he is a product of their youth academy, which means any money they receive for him will be ‘pure profit’.
This sale has enabled a hectic deadline day for Steve Cooper, who has already completed the loan signing of Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares.
PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, Benfica goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi are expected to follow Tavares through the door for a combined £35m.
With £35m being spent on new faces, Forest have agreed to sell Johnson to Spurs for £45m, reports Fabrizio Romano.
That is around half of what the Londoners received for Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich earlier this month.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Brennan Johnson to Tottenham, here we go!
“Agreement reached right now with Nottingham Forest on deal in excess of £40m with add-ons included. Total package up to £45m.
“Brennan, on his way to medical tests at Spurs training ground right now. Priority target, signed.”
David Ornstein says Spurs will pay a fixed fee of £47.5m for Johnson with no add-ons included.
Forest’s spending is not expected to end with Sangare, Vlachodimos and Hudson-Odoi, with a bid for Chelsea’s Chalobah being made, according to the Daily Mail.
The report says the Reds have made an offer worth £25m in a bid to ‘rival’ Bayern Munich, who were ‘expected’ to sign Chalobah on a season-long loan.
Chelsea would ‘prefer a permanent exit’ and like Johnson at Forest, the sale would be classed as ‘pure profit’.
Sangare’s move appeared to be as good as done before this but Romano has tweeted “here we go” for that deal as well.
Romano wrote on X: “Ibrahim Sangare to Nottingham Forest, here we go!
“Agreement in place with PSV on €35m package deal, including add ons.
Sangare will travel later after deal in place as reported. Personal terms also agreed.
“Vlachodimos on his way, Hudson Odoi completes medical.”
