Jamie Carragher has ‘changed his mind’ about how much Liverpool would sell Mohamed Salah for, according to Gary Neville.
The Reds have rejected an offer of £150million from Al-Ittihad for the winger, but the Saudi Arabian side are prepared to pay £200.
Such a move would see Al-Ittihad break the world transfer record, which was set in 2017 when Paris Saint-Germain signed Neymar from Barcelona for £198m.
Carragher had previously said that Liverpool should accept an offer of £150m, but Neville accused him of ‘changing his mind off air’ as the Anfield legend insisted the winger was worth £200m in the Saudi market.
‘I want more money. I actually think,’ Carragher said on Sky Sports, ‘when you look at what [Harry] Kane went for, Mo Salah has got two years to go [on his contract]. For Liverpool to sell right now they are going to want more than what he’s worth.’

Kane joined Bayern Munich for £100 million earlier this summer, but had just one year remaining on his Tottenham contract and left with three weeks of the transfer window remaining.
On whether the Salah move will happen, Carragher added: ‘Every player who’s involved [in a transfer rumour] can kill it straight away. I actually think his agent came out a few weeks ago but it’s up to Liverpool and Salah.
‘For any player, if that number just keeps going up and up and up, you can’t turn that down and that’s £200million.
‘I don’t think it will [happen] because it’s come so late. If it had come six weeks ago it was a toss of a coin. If that number gets too big you may have to get to January.’
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is eager to keep Salah, who has scored 187 goals in 308 games for the club since joining in 2017.
However, Al-Ittihad are determined to secure a move for the Egypt international before the Saudi Arabian transfer window closes on September 7.
They have already signed Fabinho from Liverpool this summer and have also brought in Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.
If the deal does go through, Liverpool will have little opportunity to replace Salah before the English transfer window shuts at 11pm on Friday.
