Tottenham skipper Son Heung-min sounds out a warning to Arsenal
According to The Times via football.london, Tottenham Hotspur skipper Son Heung-min has sounded out a warning to arch-rivals Arsenal ahead of the blockbuster matchup this weekend.
The veteran took over the captain’s armband after Harry Kane moved to Bayern Munich last summer. He has built up a solid rapport with Ange Postecoglou and is spearheading Tottenham’s rise back to the top.
With four wins in the first five games so far, Spurs are one of four unbeaten teams in the Premier League this season. This record will be put to the test this weekend when we face Arsenal at the Emirates this Sunday.
Games between the two sides are never for the faint of heart. With both of them now level on points and harbouring big ambitions, the clash at the Emirates should be a sign of what to expect this season.
Arsenal under Mikel Arteta are a formidable side but Son is far from intimidated. Speaking ahead of the game, the South Korean star admitted that Arsenal will be wary of us come this weekend.
“[Arsenal] won’t want to face us at this time.”
A major reason for Son’s comment is the confidence that courses through him due to Tottenham’s recent form. Spurs rallied behind Postecoglou and are building together a unit that fights both individually and as a whole.
This has fostered a sense of brotherhood that should aid us well in hard fought games. Arsenal are a strong side but there is no reason why we cannot be optimistic about our chances.
“Everyone is running for each other, everyone is fighting for each other.”
