Mauricio Pochettino saw his captain sent off for two yellow cards for the second consecutive game today, and of course he was asked about this after the game.
As you’d expect from a glass half full guy, he turned the question into a positive. Instead of berating Conor Gallagher or Reece James for their bad decisions, he decided to say his team “need to live this type of experience”. His theory is that a young team need to experience these things to learn lessons.
You never lose, you either win or you learn, as they say. Today, perhaps Chelsea managed both.
You can see him reacting in the clip embedded here:
“We need to live this type of experience. In time we will be a very confident team with talent. In the future this will improve.”
Mauricio Pochettino is adamant his young Chelsea side will learn from the recent illl-discipline they have shown after they beat Brighton.#CFC pic.twitter.com/llnYTRuq1Q
