Liverpool may have picked up a vital three points against Brighton on Sunday but the home crowd were far from impressed with one of their players.
The Reds came from behind to beat the Seagulls 2-1, Luis Diaz and Mo Salah netting after Danny Welbeck‘s early opener.
It was a nervy afternoon for supporters of Jurgen Klopp‘s team and they quickly became frustrated after Cody Gakpo entered the game.
The forward came on in the last minute of normal time and showed none of the impetuous that was expected of him.
Fans took to social media to to criticise the Dutchman for his lack of worth ethic in the closing stages of the game as Liverpool looked to hold on to their slender lead.

One posted on X: ‘surely Gakpo needs to be sold this summer. There’s no way Michael Edwards or Richard Hughes are watching this guy jog after being subbed on and are thinking he’s got a long term future at this club.’
Another wrote: ‘Gakpo uses our games as his weekly stroll’ as another said he looked like he’d been ‘running for a month’.
One even jokingly asked if Fernando Torres was still nearby to take his place after the Spaniard played in a charity match at Anfield last week.
