Contrary to reports by El Chiringuito suggesting Manchester City are reportedly interested in to land Liverpool winger Luis Diaz to replace Julian Alvarez’ services, the Premier League champions have denied any interest in the Columbian winger.

The Spanish publication states that Manchester City were prepared to offer him a five-year contract and are ready to pay €70 million (£59.8m) for Diaz’s signatures this summer transfer window.
Diaz has been linked with a move to Barcelona, as the Catalans consider the Colombian international as an alternative to Nico Williams, who is set to stay put at Athletic Club this summer.
This springed as a surprise for Liverpool as well as Manchester City supporters owing to their rivalry off-late. The player also didn’t display any indication that he was looking for an Anfield exit. In an interview in April, Diaz expressed his desire to continue with the Reds. He said: ‘The truth is that I am very happy to be here. Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.
‘You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good teammate and a good guy. Personally, I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100 per cent, to always stand out on the field, which is what I came [here] to do. I’m always grateful to God for every opportunity.’
The Reds brought Luis Diaz from Porto in a deal with an initial fee of £37m in January 2022. He has played an important role in Klopp’s FA Cup triumph and the two Carabao Cup trophies.
Manchester City have already brought in one new winger this summer in Savinho, who joined the club from French side Troyes in a deal worth €40m (£30.8m) earlier this summer and, at the moment, it doesn’t looks like City are on verge of acquiring a new face this summer.
