Bayern Munich ran riot against newly promoted 2. Bundesliga team SSV Ulm as Serge Gnabry picked up his first assist of the season off a wonderful run into the box to serve Müller up with his second goal.
Speaking post game, Gnabry said (via @iMiaSanMia): “We started well, had a lot of possession and dangerous moves. We gave it our all from the start because we want to stay in the Pokal longer this year. We were fired up and tried to play good football. There was a good energy in there. We’re really enjoying it at the moment. In the end, we deserved to win by such a big margin.”
Gnabry, who was a candidate for sale over the summer now seems to have found himself well within Kompany’s plans and will look forward to continuing his hot run of form over the friendlies.
Will Gnabry finally be able to re-establish himself in the first team with consistent performances, or will it be another story like that of the last few seasons? Tell us what you think in the comments below!
