Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane is finally back to feeling his best.
After ending the last Bayern season dealing with injury issues — missing Bayern’s final Bundesliga game and subsequently managing the impact throughout a EURO 2024 that ended in a Final defeat to Spain — the 31-year-old is back to his pain-free self.
“I feel good, the body feels good. There are no aches or pains. For me now it’s about getting up to fitness,” Kane said after Friday’s season opener, a 4-0 DFB-Pokal victory over second-division side SSV Ulm (captured via @iMiaSanMia). “I had a few weeks off recovering. With the way the manager wants to play with high intensity, you pick it up day by day and get more fit. By next week I should be fully ready to go for the season.”
Kane managed about half an hour as a substitute and scored one goal. It was his first ever appearance in the German cup after Bayern’s surprise early exit last season to FC Saarbrücken.
