Bayern Munich is rumored to be the primary bidder and maybe the main destination for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Florian Wirtz in the summer of 2025.
However, at least one pundit thinks that Wirtz will bypass Bavaria and make the move to Real Madrid — maybe with Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso. Didi Hamann has an idea of how it might all play out.
“I assume that Wirtz will go together with the coach next year — probably to Madrid,” Hamann told Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch.
That might be a tough blow for Bayern Munich, who could be looking to backfill quite a few slots on the roster next summer. With Jamal Musiala’s future at least somewhat in doubt at this stage, missing out on Wirtz could be difficult to take for the Bavarians.
