Another week, another busy week for Bayern Munich loanees. Paul Wanner continues to dominate for Heidenheim in all competitions as they forge through to the league stage of the Conference League and to the top of the Bundesliga table. There were some new additions to our list compared to last week, as Bayern loaned some players out right before the transfer window closed. We also had quite a few midweek cup matches, a few shutouts, the return of some women’s leagues, and even an assist from Alexander Nübel! See what all the loanees were up to this week:
FC Bayern Munich
There are nine players on loan from the first team.
Germany – Bundesliga
There are five players on loan in the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Franz Krätzig, Paul Wanner, Armando Sieb, and Gabriel Vidović.
Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
Nübel started twice in goal for Stuttgart this week. On Tuesday, they were on the road to Preussen Münster in their first round of the DFB-Pokal. It was an easy day in the office for Nübel, as she did not face a shot on goal, and his teammates were kind enough to put five goals past the other keeper.
Stuttgart got off to a great start and were up 2-0 by the 15th minute — with the second goal being assisted by Nübel. Shortly before halftime, he faced a penalty that he could not stop. Mainz then equalized after halftime. A direct freekick from Stuttgart in the 88th minute looked like it could have been the winner, but Nübel failed to tally his fourth save of the game and let a header past him in the 94th minute.
Franz Krätzig – VfB Stuttgart
Krätzig started on the bench for Tuesday’s match against Münster, but came on as a halftime sub. He did not get a shot off, nor did he create any significant chances for his team to shoot, but he completed 86% of his passes and tracked back to help a bit on defense. Overall, he was not super helpful — though also not needed — in the easy 5-0 win.
Krätzig was on the bench for the 3-3 draw against Mainz, but did not make it onto the field.
After the international break, Stuttgart will be on the road to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Paul Wanner – 1.FC Heidenheim
Wanner had another outstanding week for Heidenheim. First on Thursday, even though he started on the bench, he earned man of the match for his performance against Häcken in Conference League qualifying. Heidenheim was down 2-1 — and not yet safely though to the league stage — when Wanner came on in the 63rd minute. It took them until the 84th minute, but he scored the equalizer. Eight minutes later, he assisted the game-winning goal to ice the game away at 3-2 and a 5-3 aggregate. The most notable draw was a home match against the Premier League’s Chelsea FC.
Wanner followed up the midweek performance with the same scoreline on Sunday. This time he started and got things goa with a goal from the penalty spot in the ninth minute. He also assisted the goal to make it 3-0 in the 69th minute, just before being pulled off in the 70th minute. Heidenheim would put one more past Augsburg and beat them 4-0, going to the top of the Bundesliga table because of goal differential.
Heidenheim will be on the road to Dortmund on Friday, September 13.
Armando Sieb – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Sieb started on the bench against Stuttgart and entered the match in the 64th minute. He was unable to influence the game much with just ten touches and six attempted passes — only two of which were successful. As stated earlier, Mainz came back twice against Nübel and company and earned a point on the road.
Gabriel Vidović – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Vidović was not in the matchday squad for Mainz. His extension at Bayern and the loan move was announced later in the week, so he likely had not had a chance to train with the team yet.
Vidović could make his Mainz debut when they return to action on Sunday, September 15 at home against Werder Bremen.
Spain – LaLiga
Bryan Zarazoga is the only player on loan to Spain’s LaLiga.
Bryan Zarazoga – CA Osasuna
Zarazoga started for Osasuna on Thursday against Girona and played 68 minutes. It was not a very good game for his team overall, and unfortunately Zarazoga was not able to help his team turn it around. He only had 19 touches, but he only misplaced one of his attempted passes. He also tracked back to record two recoveries on defense. Osasuna fell 4-0.
Zarazoga started again on Sunday, at home against Celta Viga. Osasuna were up 2-1 at the half thanks to a Celta Viga Own goal. In the 62nd minute, Zarazoga was able to play pass into his teammate, Bretones, who scored the eventual game winner. That was his last touch before being subbed off in the 63rd minute. A late own goal by Osasuna made things interesting, but they held on to win 3-2.
Osasuna will be on the road to face Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, September 15.
Austria – Bundesliga
Lovro Zvonarek is the only player from the first team on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga.
Lovro Zvonarek – Sturm Graz
Zvonarek was on the bench for Graz’s 3-1 Austrian Cup win over SV Ried, but did not make it onto the pitch.
Zvonarek was back in the starting lineup for the league match against WSG Tirol. He only had 16 touches in 63 minutes of the pitch, but he was fairly productive with them. He got off two shots from outside the box — one blocked and one missed badly — and only misplayed one of his pass attempts. He left the match with his team down 2-1, but his replacement scored two goals and a teammate scored another to secure the home win 4-2.
Sturm Graz will travel to the capital to face Austria Wien after the international break.
Germany – 2. Bundesliga
Maurice Krattenmacher is the only player from the first team on loan to the 2. Bundesliga
Maurice Krattenmacher – SSV Ulm 1846
Krattenmacher started the match for Ulm at Paderborn 07 and went 60 minutes. He had two shots — one off target from outside the box and one that that was going to slip inside the post, but was saved by the keeper. He also created a chance for his teammates to shoot. On defense, he contributed to the shutout with five recoveries. Neither team was able to score, and Ulm picked up their first point of the season.
Ulm will host 1.FC Nürnberg after the break.
Germany – 3. Liga
Gibson Nana Adu is the only player on loan from the first team in the 3. Liga.
Gibson Nana Adu – Unterhaching
Adu was not on the matchday squad for Unterhaching’s 2-0 win over RW Essen.
Unterhaching will travel to taken on Saarbrücken on September 14.
FC Bayern Munich II
There are twelve players on loan from the second team.
Germany – 2. Bundesliga
Hyun-ju Lee is the only player from the second team loaned out to the 2. Bundesliga
Hyun-ju Lee – Hannover 96
Lee started for Hannover away to Fortuna Düsseldorf. He completed 80% of his passes, but did not create any chances for his teammates to shoot. He got three shots off from outside the box, but they all missed by a mile. He helped back on defense with three recoveries and a clearance. He was subbed off in the 62nd minute, but unfortunately no one was able to score and Hannover fell 1-0 to the current league leaders.
Hannover will host 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday, September 14.
Germany – 3. Liga
Max Scholze is the only player from the second team on loan to the 3. Liga
Max Scholze – SC Verl
Scholze is injured and did not appear in Verl’s matchday squad for Verl’s 2-1 win over Hannover’s second team.
Hopefully we will see him back in action when Verl hosts Energie Cottbus on September 15.
Germany – Regionalliga
There are three players Regionalliga teams: Lukas Schneller in Regionalliga Bayern, Luka Parkadge and Robert Deziel Jr in Regionalliga Nordost, and Yousef Qashi and Benedikt Wimmer in Regionalliga West.
Lukas Schneller – Schweinfurt 05
Schneller started and played the full 90 minutes for Schweinfurt against Illertissen. He picked up a yellow card — likely for time-wasting as keepers do — in the 89th minute. Schweinfurt picked up a 3-1 win to stay in second place.
Schweinfurt will be on the road to Ansbach on Tuesday in the Bavarian Pokal and then will host Popovic’s Türkgücü München on Friday back in league play.
Marko Popović – Türkgücü München
If you thought Schneller’s move with Bayern II’s same league was odd, Popović has moved within the same city and will in fact play his home games for Türkgücü in the same stadium that Bayern II uses! He started for Türkgücü on Saturday and played 69 minutes against Eintracht Bamberg. Bamberg won 2-1, leaving Türkgücü at the bottom of the league with just two points.
Türkgücü will travel to face Hankofen-Hailing on Tuesday in the third round of the Bavarian Pokal. They will hope to get their first win against Schneller and Schweinfurt on Friday.
Luka Parkadge – Altglienicke
In a mini miracle, proving that he is a real person, Parkadge made a rare bench appearance after not being in a matchday squad since very early last season. He did not make it onto the pitch for Altglienicke’s 3-0 win over Zwickau.
Robert Deziel Jr – Altglienicke
Deziel Jr. also started on the bench for Altglienicke at Zwickau, but came onto the pitch in the 65th minute while the match was still at 2-0. Shortly after coming on, his team scored their third and held on to a dominate road win.
Altglienicke will face Viktoria Berlin on Saturday in the second round of the Berlin Pokal. They will then host Carl Zeiss Jena in league play on Wednesday, September 11.
Yousef Qashi – Wupertaler SV
Qashi started on the bench for Wupertaler SV against league leaders Fortuna Köln and entered the match in the 63rd minute when it was level at 1-1. Wupertaler added a goal in the 74th and one in stoppage time to win 3-1.
Benedikt Wimmer – Wupertaler SV
Wimmer was also on the bench for this match, but did not make it onto the pitch.
Wupertaler SV will face Wiedenbrück in league play on September 13.
Austria – Bundesliga
Matteo Pérez Vinlöf is the only player on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga from the second team.
Matteo Pérez Vinlöf – Austria Wien
Vinlöf started on the bench for Austria Wien in the second round of the Austrian Cup and saw some crazy action. In the first 12 minutes, three goals had already been scored. Their opponents, ASKÖ Oedt, scored in just the second minute, but Austria Wien scored in the ninth and twelfth minutes. Vinlöf came on at halftime, but there is not much else known about what he specifically did. Both teams added a goal in the second half, including a converted penalty by Austria Wien in the 88th minute to advance to the next round.
Vinlöf started and played the full 90 minutes in the return to league play against SCRA Altach. He helped get things going with an assist for Austria Wien’s opener. That was just one of three chances that he created from his left-back position. To help on defense, he also recorded five recoveries and a headed clearance. He also received a yellow card in the 83rd minute for a bad foul. Wien would split the points with a 1-1 draw.
Austria Wien will host Zvornek’s Sturm Graz after the break.
Austria – 2. Liga
Tom Hülsmann is the only player on loan to the Austrian 2. Liga from the second team
Tom Hülsmann – SKN St. Pölten
Hülsmann was not on the bench for St. Pölten’s Austrian Cup loss to SW Bregenz. He was on the bench for their league loss to First Vienna FC, but did not make it onto the pitch.
St. Pölten will host Admira Wacker on Friday September 13.
Netherlands – Eerste EersDivisie
David Jonathans is the only player on loan to the Dutch Eerste Divisie.
David Jonathans – FC Den Bosch
Jonathans came started on the bench for Den Bosch against Jong Ajax (Ajax’s second team) and came onto the pitch in 63rd minute. In 17 touches, he created a chance for his team to shoot and tracked back defensively to record an interception and three recoveries. An 88th minute goal gave Den Bosch a 2-1 win over Jong Ajax.
FC Den Bosch will host ADO Den Haag after the break.
Portugal – Liga Potugal
Taichi Fukui is the only player on loan in Liga Portugal.
Taichi Fukui – FC Arouca
Fukui started for FC Arouca and played the full 90 minutes. On the attack, he had just one shot from outside the box, but it was blocked just inside the box. He also completed over 40 passes with a 92% completion rate. However, his greater contributions came on the defensive side. He recorded a blocked shot, two clearances, four interceptions, and nine recoveries. Unfortunately all of this was for naught, as Rio Ave converted a penalty for the lone goal of the match as Arouca fell 1-0.
Arouca will host Sporting CP on September 15.
FC Bayern Frauen
There are five players on loan from FC Bayern’s Frauen team.
Germany — Frauen-Bundesliga
Karólína Lea Vilhjálmsdóttir is the only player on loan in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
Karólína Lea Vilhjálmsdóttir – Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Vilhjálmsdóttir started for Leverkusen in their season opener on the road against Freiburg. She created two chances for her teammates to shoot, including a pass that led to an assist on one of the two first-half Leverkusen goals. Vilhjálmsdóttir helped a bit on defense, recording a clearance and five recoveries. She left the match in the 75th minute, when Leverkusen was up 2-1. Shortly after, Freiburg converted their second penalty goal of the match to equalize late, but in the 88th minute another penalty was given — this time to Leverkusen. They converted and held onto a 3-2 win to open the season.
Leverkusen will be on the road in the DFB-Pokal der Frauen on Sunday.
England – Women’s Super League
Jill Baijings is the only player on loan to the Women’s Super League.
Jill Baijings – Aston Villa
Aston Villa will start the season away to Chelsea on September 20.
Spain – Primera División Femenina
Natalia Padilla is the only player on loan to the Primera División Femenina.
Natalia Padilla – FC Sevilla
Sevilla will start their season with a home game on September 7 against Real Sociedad.
Sweden – Damallsvenskan
Momoko Tanikawa is the only player on loan to the Damallsvenskan.
Momoko Tanikawa – FC Rosengård
Tanikawa made her return to Sweden and appeared for Rosengård for the first time since the Olympics. She started and played the full 90 minutes in each of the two games this week. For the first time since being on loan, Tanikawa failed to score in a match that she featured in. Luckily for her team, Rosengård was still able to get the 1-0 win over second place Häcken on Monday.
On Saturday, Rosengård faced AIK and were back to their normal, high-scoring selves. Tanikawa assisted the second goal of the match in the 19th minute before scoring one of her own in the 57th minute. Rosengård won 5-1 and currently enjoy an eleven point lead at the top of the table. Note: remember that Sweden’s domestic leagues play from Spring to Fall.
Rosengård will host Brommapojkarna on Firday.
Italy – Serie A
Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir is the only player on loan to Serie A
Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir – Inter Milan
Rúnarsdóttir started for Inter — making her Serie A Femminile debut — in their season opener. She was able to keep a clean sheet while her teammates scored five goals — including one from former Bayern captain, Lina Magull. A very strong 5-0 shutout win should do great for a young keeper’s confidence!
Inter will travel to Naples to face S.S.D. Napoli Femminile on September 15.
