West Ham United face a big problem this winter, with Nottingham Forest eyeing up a big January transfer.
Julen Lopetegui has a lot of work to do at West Ham in the January transfer window, and the same can be said for Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Hammers are said to be eyeing up moves to strengthen the central defensive ranks at the London Stadium, with a bid for Victor Nelsson believed to be in the pipeline.
However, it must be said that Lopetegui, and Tim Steidten of course, should be looking at another centre-forward.
Niclas Fullkrug is still out injured, and we cannot continue to rely on Michail Antonio, as good as he has been for us.
A move for a young striker with huge potential would be preferable in January.
However, it seems like there may be trouble ahead for the Hammers.
West Ham blow as Nottingham Forest plan bid for Yuri Alberto
Bolavip claim that Forest are plotting a £19 million bid for the Corinthians hitman this winter.
West Ham have been heavily linked with Yuri Alberto recently, and were said to be weighing up a bid of our own for the forward.
Alberto has bagged 93 goals in 270 career games (Transfermarkt) – a decent clip of one goal in every three games.
The Corinthians forward is a very good finisher and is extremely efficient when playing with his back to goal.
However, he isn’t the quickest, although he does make up for that lack of pace with his intelligent positioning.
Yuri Alberto has plenty of impressive attributes, and despite the fact that he’s not the complete package, it’s worth remembering that he is just 23.
He has plenty of time left to improve and work on his weaknesses.
If West Ham really want to sign Yuri Alberto in the January transfer window, they had better act fast, with Nottingham Forest lurking.
