The striker search at London Stadium is hotting up. Amongst the options are Middlesboro striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, but we hear his club will resist selling him before the summer with promotion their main priority. Brazilian options such as Igor Jesus or Yuri Alberto are reported but especially the former – again is costly: A couple of days ago we suggested Evan Ferguson (main image) was being considered as a loan deal.
The great news for Hammers fans is that the scouting has been reported, the shortlist has been prepared: Relying on Niclas Fullkrug’s dodgy achilles and want-away melancholy need not derail West Ham’s winter campaign. Rumours abound of options being considered, whether loan or outright purchase.
Yesterday, Gonzo’s article reported on West Ham’s interest in PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani.
Last night, Randal Kolo Muani’s desire to leave PSG was featured in a new report by news site fichajes.net entitled:”The forward who is desperate to leave PSG” detailing Kolo Muani’s desire to move on and grab more game time. Apparently “Paris Saint-Germain could be willing to negotiate an exit if the offer meets their financial expectations, especially considering that Kolo Muani still holds a high market value. For the player, a change of scenery could mean the opportunity to shine again in a context where he can have more continuity.
Meanwhile, the striker’s situation continues to attract interest, with other clubs potentially monitoring his status. The next few months will be crucial in determining whether Kolo Muani will remain in Paris or embark on a new stage in his career.”
Manchester United and RB Leipzig both are reportedly interested in an outright purchase will probably take him out of West Ham’s ‘Matalan’ Price range. After splurging £140 million already this year, the Hammers aren’t shopping with a Selfridges budget and Transfermarkt.com suggests €40 million plus and I just don’t see West Ham shelling out that kind of price – or more – on a striker who will always be a second-tier imitation of Jhon Duran in January. A loan striker such as Ferguson or a twenty million striker may well suffice until the summer when the Fullkrug situation will be resolved one way or the other.
The good news is one way or another there should be a new, younger, fitter variant through the door in January.
