Harry Kane has made the seamless transition from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich, which helped him earn the top scorer award in his first season in Germany. How does one get hyped enough to bang in 36 league goals (averaging 1.06 goals per game)? Easy! Just listen to…Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran?
Kane said in a Bayern Kids’ Club interview via (@iMiaSanMia) that “Ed Sheeran is one of my favorites, but I also like listening to Taylor Swift and Adele. I also like country music. ‘Wagon Wheel’ is one of my favorite songs. Before the games, I listen to faster music to get myself going.”
It’s not just on the football pitch where Kane thrives, but off it as well by doing various things with his teammates. “I like playing golf with Thomas [Müller]. I know Eric Dier from my time at Tottenham and we are good friends. I sit next to him on the bus. I also love playing with Leroy [Sané] and Jamal [Musiala]. We have a good connection on and off the pitch. I sometimes play a game of chess with Joshua [Kimmich].”
Müller is probably only second to Gareth Bale in terms of footballers who play golf, whereas Sané and Musiala provide the English connection (apart from the obvious answer in Dier). What are the odds that Kimmich will demand a rematch every time Kane beats him at chess?
