Bayern Munich have a thing called the “team council” which comprises the senior players and the leaders of the team, and the German national football team has that too. Julian Nagelsmann opted to exclude Jamal Musiala for now, but Lothar Matthäus was having none of it.
“It’s totally fine for me that I’m not part of the team council,” Musiala assured (Welt am Sonntag via @iMiaSanMia). “We players are very open with each other and with the coaching staff. Whenever I want to say my opinion or it’s asked for, I say it. I don’t have to be on the team council for that. I can be a leader anyway. I’ve known Julian for a while, we respect each other a lot.”
The team council (according to the Bundesliga’s official website) is comprised of the following players: captain Joshua Kimmich, vice-captains Antonio Rüdiger and Kai Havertz, Marc-André ter Stegen, Niclas Füllkrug, Pascal Groß, and Jonathan Tah.
