Manchester City could hand Pep Guardiola’s successor in excess of £300m to spend on transfers next summer if the Spaniard chooses to leave the Etihad, according to The Mirror.
While the club are still hoping that Guardiola will stay beyond the end of his contract, they are putting contingency plans in place just in case he does call it a day.
There have been reports in the past about a supposed “transfer war chest” which haven’t come to fruition and there was a mixed reaction to this latest story among fans on X:
Man city will be dominating for the next few years at the least

City will have no problems complying with PSR or FFP
The Cityzens have been pretty smart in recent transfer windows, having raised £170m from player sales this summer alone.
It means there will be no issues with regards to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules or UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
Replacing Guardiola would be tough
You can’t simply throw money at the problem, though, if you have to replace arguably the greatest manager of the modern era.
For City to remain ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and, to a lesser extent, Manchester United and Chelsea, they will have to get their next appointment right or, better yet, persuade Guardiola to stay beyond next year.
