Manchester City defender Nathan Ake had to be stretchered off the pitch during the Netherlands’ 2-2 draw against Germany on Tuesday night.
The 29-year-old suffered what looked like a serious muscular injury just before half-time, with Jurrien Timber coming on to replace him.
Supporters on X are lamenting Ake’s poor luck with injuries, and many were very unhappy that he had sustained the injury whilst away with his national team:

How many games will Ake miss?
No definitive return date has been given for the Dutchman, and it may be a few days before we find out the extent of the problem.
It’s very likely that Ake will be unavailable when City take on Brentford this weekend, while it’s doubtful that he will participate in upcoming fixtures against Inter Milan and Arsenal,
It’s not all bad news on the injury front for City
While it looks as if the Premier League champions will have to make do without Ake for quite some time, three others are expected to return after the international break.
Rodri has not played for his club this season but he featured in Spain’s game against Switzerland last weekend. Phil Foden is set to recover from illness to face Brentford, while Savinho appears to be winning his fitness battle after missing the win over West Ham due to a knee problem.
