Jadon Sancho picked up an assist for the opening goal in today’s game against West Ham as he linked up nicely down the left with Nicolas Jackson. That made it two assists in two games in a Chelsea shirt.
His most eye catching moment was later in that half, when he squared up two defenders in the box and did some nice skills to shake them off.
Sadly it led to nothing – but it’s a glimpse of the one on one skill that helps break down defences and can do on the left what Noni does on the right to destabilise low blocks and deep lying opposition defences.
With Neto and Mykhailo Mudryk’s pace, Joao Felix’s technical skills and Madueke and Sancho’s dribbling we have a really nice spread of skillsets in the attack at the moment, as the coach explained yesterday.
