Chelsea beat West Ham United 3-0 away from home on the Premier League yesterday lunchtime in front of the TNT cameras in an impressive result for The Blues.
But it also marked an impressive record made for new head coach Enzo Maresca, who will now feel he is really starting to get a tune out of his players.
EXCL: Inside story of Chelsea player being dead set on joining Crystal Palace in the summer but Chelsea moved the goalposts…
There’s been some ups and downs, but yesterday’s result against West Ham was very good, and it had the performance to go with it too. Chelsea looked devastating on the counter attack and they looked like they could easily score whenever they went forward.
The Hammers were non existent, but take nothing away from Chelsea and how they played on the ball – their passing was very good and clever.
Maresca achieves record
By winning this game, Enzo Maresca is now the first manager to win their first three away games in charge in the Premier League since Pep Guardiola in 2016!
That is super impressive, especially when Maresca arrived at Chelsea during a bit of a turmoil time after yet another manager was shown the exit door at Stamford Bridge.
Things had started to come together for Mauricio Pochettino a bit more come the end of last season, but the two parted ways anyway and Maresca came in as a bit of an inexperienced manager.
However, he is starting to show signs of the kind of football he can build and play, and Chelsea’s squad are starting to show what they are capable of as well.
