One outlet has decided to rank Chelsea’s 9 best ever wingers to have played for the club since the beginning of it’s existence, and one current player has made the list.
It will come as no surprise to see who tops the list, but some other names might be a bit more surprising.
EXCL: Inside story of Chelsea player being dead set on joining Crystal Palace in the summer but Chelsea moved the goalposts…
Give Me Sport have used key factors to make the list of 9 ranking list.
The Ranking Factors are:
- Goals scored for Chelsea – Despite not being the main men, wingers still need to provide consistent output.
- Longevity – The longer they stayed at the club, the more they were well-loved by fans.
- Impact – Whether they ‘carried’ their side or were part of a world-class team needs to be considered.

1. | Eden Hazard | 2012-2019 |
2. | Charlie Cooke | 1966-1972, 1974-1978 |
3. | Arjen Robben | 2004-2007 |

7. | Willian | 2013-2020 |
8. | Pedro | 2015-2020 |
9. | Cole Palmer | 2024- |
So as you can see, Palmer makes it but only just. Although, the debate might be that Palmer is not currently even playing as a winger, but he has played there for most of his Chelsea career so far.
Eden Hazard was always going to be the clear winner here and he will be in any ranking for Chelsea’s best player whether position specific or not.
I’m surprised to see Pedro make the grade, even though he was very good in moments.
Pat Nevin and Arjen Robben deservedly making the rankings as well, two very high quality and consistent wingers during their time here.
