Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are THE faces of the German national football team. It has been a while since Die Mannschaft had a star player and now they have not one, but two! Former Germany international Toni Kroos said that those two players will be key to Germany’s success in the near future.
“These are two players we’ve longed for in Germany for years,” Kroos said on his Einfach Mal Luppen podcast (via @iMiaSanMia). “Players who can turn a harmless situation into a dangerous one all by themselves. They will have to carry us in the next few years and win games. Both can play in tight spaces and assist goals, but also score goals themselves. Both can create their own dangerous actions. They differ in nuances in terms of quality, but all at the highest level. Flo is a bit more straightforward, who keeps his head up in the last situation. For Jamal a 1v2 is like a 1v1 for others. If Germany wants to win titles in the future, then it will always need good tournaments from Wirtz and Musiala in the next few years.”
Kroos himself proved to be a vital cog in the German machine, who clicked every time he played. The ex-Bayern Munich and Real Madrid star has since retired, making way for the next generation which Musiala and Wirtz are part of.
