Bayern munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has not had the easiest of seasons.
With a front office that — allegedly — does not want him and a jam-packed midfield full of talent, Goretzka has had to scratch and claw his way for any possible minutes. Of course, given the injury situation of the midfield, Goretzka is now getting his chance to show what he can do.
“Yes, of course it feels good. That’s why I’m here, to play football. I’m always happy to be let off the leash,” said Goretzka (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’s a basic requirement for me to be professional. Of course I’m happy when that’s acknowledged. But that’s how I’ve tried to do it throughout my entire career. I will not change anything about that.”
That attitude should serve Goretzka well in the months ahead. Once the injured players heal up, Goretzka will have to hope he has shown enough to warrant consideration for a larger role on the squad.
