good morning
Well this is awkward. How often have we seen the Europa League on a Wednesday? Is this new? It doesn’t really matter because Tottenham’s game doesn’t take place until tomorrow.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the fixtures today.
Considering there are only ninte, I figure I may as well rank the ones I’m most looking forward to watching with very little explanation why:
1. AZ Alkmaar vs IF Elfsborg: I really wanted an away day at Elfsborg this Europa League campaign this year (not that I’d have attended). Ah well, maybe we’ll meet in the Champions League next year.
2. Bodo/Glimt vs Porto: Bodo/Glimt were interesting to follow in the international fixtures last season, and I’m still reading my Fernando Pessoa biography (currently on page 260ish out of 800ish).
3. Midtjylland vs Hoffenheim: Keeping the whole Nordic/Baltic trend going here.
4. Anderlecht vs Ferencvaros: Toby Alderweireld loves Anderlecht, and that’s reason for me to watch.
5. Nice vs Real Sociedad: I mean, maybe?
6. Galatasary vs PAOK: This match screams the most chaotic to me. In a good way or bad, though, I’m not so sure.
7. Dynamo Kyiv vs Lazio: Another one that doesn’t really move the needle for me.
8. Ludogorets vs Slavia Praha: There aren’t many other clubs I’m bored of seeing in the Europa League than Ludogorets.
9. Man United vs Twente: If I can avoid watching Manchester United, I will. Besides, Spurs are playing them this Sunday.
