Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has been linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, as both players are regarded as two of the most promising young talents in the world.
Now. the two off-the-field pals will have to butt heads in a key Bundesliga match between two of the best teams in the world.
“He’s a great player, we’re good friends and we have a great relationship. But we’re focused on ourselves. We want to keep doing our thing and not look at Leverkusen too much. It’s going to be a tough game and I think everyone’s looking forward to it,” said Musiala.
The Musiala vs. Wirtz subplot is heightened given the recent rumors that Bayern Munich is prepared to make a big move for Wirtz this summer. Could the German national team duo be poised to play together for both club and country?
Maybe. Until then, though, we will all have to settle for watching them duke it out on the pitch this weekend.
