There will be many things to watch during Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga showdown with Bayer Leverkusen, but one player who many fans will have their eyes on is Florian Wirtz.
In recent days, Bayern has been very closely linked to acquiring Wirtz during the 2025 summer transfer window. Here is the latest:
Bayern Munich are keen on bringing Bayer Leverkusen talent Florian Wirtz to the Allianz Arena next summer but the German giants will face strong competition from Man City and Real Madrid. The 21-year-old is one of Europe’s most exciting talents and has developed rapidly ever since making his debut for the Bundesliga champions in 2020.
Last season highlighted the midfielder’s importance to Leverkusen as the youngster played a huge role in Xabi Alonso’s team winning the league and cup double in Germany. Wirtz featured in 49 matches, scoring 18 goals and assisting a further 20. Despite a contract at the BayArena until 2027, several clubs had an eye on the German international during the summer transfer window, but the 21-year-old opted to remain with Leverkusen for at least another season.
Reports linked Man City, Real Madrid and Liverpool to Wirtz and it looks like two of these remain interested in the midfielder ahead of the 2025 windows. There is a possibility that Wirtz could leave Bayer Leverkusen in 2025 and knowing this, Bayern Munich have become interested in the German midfielder.
Chelsea FC attacker Mykhailo Mudryk looks like he is going to need a change of scenery. WIll Bayern Munich indulge in a player it has been rumored to have interest in?
Maybe, let’s check the latest news:
Mykhailo Mudryk is edging closer to a Chelsea exit after failing to win over new head coach Enzo Maresca. Mykhailo Mudryk could try and force an exit from Chelsea in an attempt to get his career back on track.
Bayern Munich has a massive game ahead with Bayer Leverkusen, but there is so much going on with this squad that we have plenty to discuss.

Manchester City is reportedly poised to do everything in its vast power to convince Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala to make the jump back to England:
Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly ready to “do everything” to beat Real Madrid to 21-year-old Bayern Munich whizkid Jamal Musiala.
According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Jamal Musiala is the subject of interest from Manchester City. The Bayern Munich whizkid is also a target for Real Madrid heading into the 2025 summer transfer window. However, Pep Guardiola is ready to “do everything” to ensure the Premier League champions beat Los Blancos to the signature of the 21-year-old prospect.
Real Madrid’s interest in Jamal Musiala is understandable. The reigning La Liga champions want to lay down a succession plan for Luka Modric, with Toni Kroos already leaving a gaping hole in the midfield department. While Musiala prefers to reprise a more advanced role, he can be a solid addition to the Real Madrid squad. In addition, the opportunity to join Los Blancos appeals to the youngster.
As for Manchester City, the Premier League champions want to plan for life after Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian playmaker is approaching the twilight of his illustrious career, thus forcing the Citizens to consider potential successors. So, Musiala is a viable target for Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola ready to “do everything” to beat Real Madrid to his signature.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich will be eager to keep hold of the 21-year-old, with the Bundesliga giants planning contract talks with his entourage. So, it will be interesting to see where he plies his trade in the 2025/26 season.
It will be very difficult for Manchester City to break into the all-out assault that Bayern Munich is making to convince Musiala to stay put. From executives to coaches to alumni, everyone seems to be trying to convince the attacker to continue onward with Bayern Munich.
Arsenal FC’s renewed interest in Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović has prompted the Italian club to try and talk about a contract extension. Those discussions have not gone anywhere yet, though:
Juventus are hoping to tie striker Dušan Vlahović down to a new contract following renewed interest from Arsenal, but negotiations have hit a standstill.
