Paris Saint-Germain will be heading into their UEFA Champions League Matchday 2 clash against Arsenal riding a victory after the capital club secured a 3-1 win over Stade Rennais on Friday night at the Parc des Princes.
The capital club opened the scoring with a goal from Bradley Barcola in the 30th minute. In the second half, the Parisians scored twice, with goals from Kang-in Lee in the 58th minute and Barcola recording a brace in the 68th minute, as Luis Enrique and his team took a 3-0 lead.
Rennes would add a goal to make it 3-1, which would be the final scoreline. Following the match, Lee hinted at what the squad will need to do to secure a positive result on the road against the Gunners.
“We’re off to a great start this week,” Lee told beIN SPORTS (h/t Canal Supporters). “We came into this match aiming to take all three points, and we did just that, so we’re really happy. The team’s strength? Since the start of the season, we’ve shown that we play as a team.
“Everyone defends, everyone attacks. We support each other and focus on the collective effort. I think that’s the key. We’re a close-knit group, a real team, and that’s what matters most.”
Arsenal secured a win this week against Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup and will face Leicester City on Saturday. It will be interesting to see if the North London club can make it two wins this week heading into the clash against PSG.
