When it comes to the contracts of players currently at Bayern Munich, there are few more important to keep an eye on than Jamal Musiala’s. The German’s contract expires in 2026 and there have been rumors for years that the biggest clubs in Europe are keeping an eye on the joint Euro 2024 golden boot winner. But as much as other clubs want Musiala, Bayern want to keep him more. Over the years, countless executives have expressed their desire to keep Musiala at the club for the next 10 to 15 years and the step to doing that would be to renew his contract.
And it seems like the club is starting to make their move. @iMiaSanMia captured Kompany, speaking shortly after Bayern drew 1-1 against Bayer Leverkusen in a Bundesliga showdown, confirming contract talks between Musiala and Bayern: “There are talks between Jamal and the club. We will solve it as a Bayern family.”
That is not much to work with, but if Kompany is able to officially confirm these talks it is likely that these talks have progressed beyond the initial phases with the former Chelsea FC youngster. The club is still likely a way away from an agreement with Musiala, but every step closer will be welcomed by fans and club alike.
